Customers sit inside a real car driving a virtual environment. A projection of various driving scenes appears on a wall in front of the vehicle. As the customer turns the steering wheel, the environment moves giving the customer the sensation of driving in a real environment. The entire windshield is filled with the image as well as the customer’s prereferral view. Audio is pumped through the vehicle’s stereo system.
Increase conversions by having customers participate in more than one test drive. The Virtual Test Drive was first released at Mercedes-Benz Plano and sold 2 AMGs in first week of launch. Customers learn about the model, learn about dealership services and drive the vehicle parked in front of the projected simulated environment all by controlling the vehicle’s steering wheel.
